About Us
We offer thoughtful, science-based psychiatric care for adults, delivered entirely via telehealth. Our approach focuses on you as a person and is guided by your goals, not insurance company rules.
As board-certified psychiatrists, we are medical doctors who have completed specialized training in mental health and brain science, and passed rigorous national exams to ensure the highest standard of care. We use our years of clinical experience to offer a full range of services, including medication management; talk therapy; and support for meaningful lifestyle changes like improving sleep, stress management, and daily routines.
We also have extensive experience caring for people whose mental health concerns are influenced by neurologic illness, thinking and memory changes, or later-life issues. If you’re navigating these kinds of challenges, you can learn more about how we help.
Whether you're navigating depression, anxiety, cognitive changes, or complex symptoms that don't fit neatly into a diagnosis, we take time to understand your full story and where you want to go. Our care is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in science-so you can feel confident in the plan we build together.
If you're looking for a telepsychiatrist in Florida who will listen closely, take your concerns seriously, and offer effective care, we'd be glad to help.

Joanne Alonso Byars, MD
I'm a board-certified psychiatrist and neurologist with special training in how brain and behavior affect each other. I care for adults dealing with anxiety, depression, memory problems, and other mental health concerns—including people who feel frustrated with past treatment or want a more thoughtful, collaborative approach. I also have extensive experience treating psychiatric symptoms related to conditions like stroke, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, and other serious medical illnesses.
My background includes work in academic hospitals, community mental health, and brain injury rehabilitation, which helps me adapt care to each person's needs. I've published research and book chapters on stroke, dementia, Parkinson's disease, and brain injury—but what matters most to me is helping people gain clarity, feel better, and move forward.

I’m a board-certified psychiatrist who enjoys caring for adults at different stages of life. I work with people facing mood or anxiety symptoms, thinking and memory changes, and older adults experiencing life transitions; and have spent more than ten years supporting the mental health of our nation’s veterans. I also have a strong interest in sports psychiatry; my experiences in Division I athletics shaped my commitment to helping young adults and athletes navigate competitive pressure, identity changes, injuries, and post-sport depression.
I’m grateful for the chance to help people through mood concerns, cognitive changes, and life challenges, and to support them as they work toward feeling better.
